Assistant Manager Market Operations

Closing Date:24/09/2010
Reporting to the Market Operations Manager, you will assist in supervising the market operations team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Supervise & support the Market Operations team during the late shift
  • Execute of daily market operations activities including:
    • Market user support and management
    • Contract maintenance and management
    • Trading schedule maintenance and management
    • Order and trade management
    • Market report generation
    • Exception handling
    • Other related activities
  • Maintain an orderly and fair marketplace
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of market operations policies and procedures
  • Contribute to systems development
  • Take up internal projects as appropriate

Requirements

  • Degree in business, economics or related disciplines
  • 5-6 years' experience in front or middle office in the banking and financial industry, preferably in commodity derivative trading operations
  • Strong IT application skills

Business Analyst, FIX Protocol & Market Access

Closing Date:24/09/2010
Reporting to Market Access Manager, you will work closely with customers and business partners in designing, evaluating the trading business, as well as identifying potential system development opportunities.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyze business process, requirement, challenges and opportunities by conducting market research and project assessments
  • Recommend suggestions, alternatives and potential solutions after having made the impact analysis
  • Create and maintain customers’ presentations, project timelines, status reports, completed project planning documents/forms (in Chinese and English)
  • Communicate with Clearing and Trading members to follow up business issues and change requirements
  • Create test case scenarios for conformance tests and update respective documentation
  • Conduct conformance testing with customers and provide reports
  • Responsible for the global overview of the systems’ interactions with customers, the Exchange and the Clearing House
  • Responsible for the change management activities including communicating with third-party vendors, creating the Request for Changes and following its implementation
  • Maintain documentation on the data workflow between all systems (pre-trade and post-trade): order management systems, Application Program Interfaces (API) and the relationship with the Clearing House

Requirements

  • Degree in IT, accounting, finance or a business related discipline with a 5-7 years experience preferably in exchange/financial institutions or consultancy, including minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
  • Experience in trading systems (specifically APIs),  order management, clearing management systems, conformance testing is a definite advantage
  • Good knowledge of FIX Protocol and environments
  • Strong analytical, organizational and presentation skills, and business acumen
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, changing environment
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Putonghua



Clearing & Delivery Officer

Reporting to Clearing & Operations Manager, you will support the daily clearing operations routines and ad-hoc tasks.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform daily clearing operation in accordance with internal operational procedures and control guidelines
  • Implement and refine operation procedures for efficiency and business development
  • Communicate effectively with Exchange members on business/operation issues and to provide proactive resolution
  • Liaise with Clearing House and internal departments on work processes and clearing operations
  • Develop and implement monitoring tools for exception management
  • Prepare market statistics and management information
  • Incident resolution, reporting and escalation
  • Participate and planning of market drills and disaster rehearsals
  • Continuous development of new initiatives and improvement of operations efficiency
  • Support system acceptance testing and development
  • Shift duty is required

 

Requirements

  • Degree in finance or business related discipline with a minimum of 3 years' experience in financial industry preferably in exchange/financial institutions or consultancy
  • Experience in clearing and settlement operations, particularly in commodities and derivatives are preferable
  • Hands on experience in various Middle Office/Back Office applications
  • Good analytical, presentation skills and business acumen
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, changing environment
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese. Fluent Mandarin is an added advantage



Customer Service Officer

Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, you will be responsible for attending to customer service hotline and assisting with new member connections and working closely with IT team to provide immediate support for trading and technical issues.

Key Accountabilities

  • Attending to customer service hotline and email
  • Logging all incidents and requests, categorizing and prioritizing them
  • Performing first-line investigation and diagnosis
  • Managing the lifecycle of incidents and requests, escalating as appropriate, and closing them when the user is satisfied ; keeping users informed of the status of services, incidents and requests
  • Liaising with vendors to resolve production issues and carry out upgrades etc
  • Assisting in regular events at the exchange, like yearly BCP exercise, systems upgrade conformance test, and system upgrade rehearsal
  • Shift duty is required

Requirements

  • Degree / Diploma in Information Technology or finance discipline is preferred with at least 3 years working experience, preferably in client service support or financial trade support
  • Capable of resolving issues, understanding the business as well as the technology utilized by the business
  • Strong customer relations skills as well as good problem solving and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of futures and options market, clearing and delivery operations would be a definite asset
  • Knowledge of HP Service Manager application would be an advantage
  • Initiative, self-motivated and confident
  • Excellent spoken and written English plus good verbal communication in Mandarin  
     

 




Product Development Manager

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Research and Development, you will work closely with the Exchange internal departments and outside market participants to develop and manage derivatives products and services for the Exchange by utilizing your knowledge in the commodities business.

Key Accountabilities

  • Research on various commodities or related markets to develop new products
  • Manage and maintain existing products and related services to provide a better platform for the market community
  • Interact and network with related market participants, such as commercial trading desks, FCMs, trade associations, and key personnel throughout the industry in a regular basis to enhance the Exchange business
  • Provide ongoing support for business projects

 

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in economics, engineering, or related area. A Master degree in related area is an added advantage
  • Minimum of 3 years of commodities (including energy, precious metals, and industrial metals) industry experience in research, trading, risk or sales
  • Prior experience in commodity derivatives products development is preferred
  • A proven track record in commodity space with an emphasis in metals or energy. A solid understanding of commodity futures, options, OTC and cash markets
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin are required



Product Development Officer

Reporting to the Deputy Director, Research and Development, you will work closely with the Exchange senior product development staff to develop and manage derivatives products and services for the Exchange by utilizing your analytical and problem solving skills.

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist senior staff to research on varies commodities or related markets to develop new products
  • Manage and maintain varies market databases
  • Responsible for data analysis, mining, update, organization, maintenance and information gathering
  • Perform statistical analysis of economic and market data
  • Support in varies presentations with relevant industrial materials
  • Expand to other responsibilities in commodities or quantitative research as directed

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of one year related experience (not required for candidate with a Master degree)
  • Experience with Financial Market data vendors, such as Bloomberg or Reuters, is a plus
  • Knowledge about the financial market or the commodities market is a plus
  • Excellent creative, analytical, math and computer skills
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Access, or other data mining tools.  Programming/VBA knowledge is a plus
  • Fluent oral and written English (and Chinese is a big plus)

 




Senior Business Analyst

Reporting to Director of Application Development, you will be responsible for the technology integration of highly complex projects and also provide leadership to the other Business Analysts.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analyse business processes, workflow, operation processes and perform gap analysis and understand underlying business needs
  • Evaluate information from various departments, reconcile conflicts and perform business analysis in order to identify underlying business requirements and produce specifications and business processes.
  • Translate business requirements to functional requirements and communicate to development team / vendor.
  • Develop functional specifications, use cases and workflows for complex projects.
  • Lead the development of testing plan and testing cases, user guides, training plan, and training material.
  • Identify, report and track issues identified during the project lifecycle.
  • Assist Project Managers in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules.
  • Communicate at all levels and apply project  standards
     

Requirements

  • Degree in accounting, finance or a business related discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience in exchange / financial institutions or consultancy
  • Demonstrate an intricate understanding of clearing and trading operations in an Exchange
  • Good understanding of the development lifecycle and application architecture and design
  • Good understanding of the analysis methodologies and tools
  • Can quickly understand business initiatives, ideas and issues from management and users and present (written and verbal) in a logical manner
  • Can provide leadership and serves as a role model for more junior staff
  • Is able to identify critical issues and leads in providing solutions

Senior Marketing Officer

Reporting to the Head of Marketing, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the company's membership acquisition strategy. This role will provide support to management for the purpose of marketing to potential regional customers. You are also required to perform market research, produce marketing documentation and contribute to the overall marketing strategy.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop regional membership acquisition strategy in particular for China and Hong Kong
  • Execute on marketing and membership acquisition strategies
  • Build relationships in client facing role with potential customers

Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing or equivalent discipline with minimum 3-5 years of experience in marketing with significant exposure to China

Test Analyst

Closing Date:24/09/2010
Reporting to Testing Manager, you will be responsible for conducting quality assurance testing of the trading platform applications, and assisting in the preparation of test plans, test scripts, test cases, maintining test environments and be the primary resource for all release testing.

Key Accountabilities

  • Conduct thorough End to End testing of trading platform, analyzing the results and reporting issues to the applications team, continually improving the QA process and Best Practice
  • Work with the applications team and business analysts to produce extensive testing deliverables to include test plans, test cases, test data, test execution results and a defect log
  • Provide test estimates for projects and a constant feedback loop reassessing and updating the team accordingly using the cycle of testing
  • Execute functional/non-functional, integration, and regression testing in accordance with agreed test cases and test plans
  • Developand maintain testing tools as well as apply industry standards
  • Become an expert in all aspects of the system architecture, whilst interfacing across multiple departments

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years testing experience in highly complex trading system environments
  • Experience in Linux Command Line Perl and Shell Scripting
  • Experience in all aspects of testing including but not limited to Manual, Automated, Functional, Regression and Random System Testing
  • Experience in test case management tools
  • Experience in FIX protocol
  • Preferably in experience in automated test tools such as Verifix and Certifix
  • Preferably in development experience in Java/C++
  • Experience in Financial Markets / Exchanges / Trading
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and confidence in proactively engage colleagues outside your team on upstream processes and Best Practice
